Web page

A web page is a specific collection of information provide by a website and displayed to a user in a web browser. A web page can contain huge information including text,graphics,audio,and video and hyperlinks these hyperlinks are the link to other web pages. Collection of linked web pages on a web sever is known as a website. A unique uniform resource locator (URL) is associated with each web page.

A dynamic web page is a web age that displays different content each time its viewed. for example the page may change with he time of day the user that accesses the web page or the type of user interaction . There are two types of dynamic web pages.

A web browser takes you anywhere on the internet. It retrieves information from other parts of the web and displays it on your desktop or mobile device. the information is transferred using the Hypertext transfer protocol which defines how text,images and video are transmitted on the web. This information needs to be shared and displayed in a consistent format so that people using any browser ,anywhere in he world can see the information.

Web Server

A web server is software and hardware that uses HTTP(Hypertext Transfer Protocol) and other protocols to respond to client requests made over the world wide web . The main job of a web server is to display website content through storing ,Processing and delivering web pages to users.


Host name

The name or address of web sever to be accessed.


Port Number

A port is a communication endpoint. At the software level within an operating system a port is a logical construct ha identifies a specific process or a type of network service. A port is identified for each transport protocol and address combination by a 16 – bit unsigned number known as the port number.


Websites

Website is a location on he web and hosted on a web server. I is set of related web pages. It is accessed using internet address known as uniform Resource locator.
